Alison Gillatt joined Phillips Auctioneers in 1979, (later becoming Bonhams). She ran the European and Oriental Ceramics and Decorative Arts Department for the north of England until 2007 when the Leeds saleroom closed and she continued at Bonhams Leeds valuation office in a similar role. Alison joined Sheffield Auction Gallery in 2016 and covers all disciplines. Appraising a wide variety of objects for auction and carrying out written insurance and probate valuations, she is very well known and respected by professional and private clients within the West Riding of Yorkshire and beyond.
Since 2003 she has worked as an off-screen valuer on a number of television programmes including BBC's "Flog It!" and "Make me a Dealer".
As a very experienced member of our professional team, Alison's focus is on expanding our base within the West Riding of Yorkshire.
We produce detailed catalogues for all auctions and sales are all listed fully illustrated on both our website and other specialist auction bidding websites. Our regular email keeps both trade and private buyers fully updated. Auctions are widely advertised within the press.
Auctions are held live in real time on the internet with auction bidding platforms such as the-saleroom.com and easylive, enabling buyers to watch and bid at the sales without being present in the saleroom.
Specialist valuers are available in the Saleroom, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 10am to 4pm for free pre-auction appraisals and advice. We also hold regular Specialist 'Fine Arts & Antiques' Valuation Days in the Saleroom by appointment.
