Welcome to the Sheffield Auction Gallery's Oriental Works of Art Department.

The Oriental department covers a vast array of items from China, Japan, India and the surrounding countries. The demand for these items is particularly strong at the moment with many items returning to their country of origin with Far East collectors buying back pieces from their heritage.

These sales includes a diverse range of items from ceramics including blue and white which is always popular, the colourful Canton Famille Rose, metalware such as bronzes, cloisonné enamel vases, embroidered panels and robes, jades and other hard stone carvings, hardwood furniture, scrolls, manuscripts amongst many other things.

A few years ago we sold a 19th century Chinese work box containing an array of beautiful needlework accessories which realised £31,000!

Our Oriental Items section encompasses the region as a whole thereby attracting the widest group of buyers to obtain the highest possible realised prices.
