*This was a gift to the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Alderman J.W. Sterland, MBE, JP, on 12th July 1961 when the tower was officially opened.
The landmark at the junction of Hemsworth Road and Norton Lane was built to provide sufficient supply of water to the Norton area. Standing 109ft High with an observatory at the top.
